I have been investigating this situation for years and years. I finally have the certified documents to prove a Special District stole this 138 year old winery named Gallegos Wine Cellar at Osgood Rd. and Washington Blvd. in Irvington, Fremont. Some of you may remember it as the Pickle Factory, however in 1881 Juan Gallegos Built the winery and made over 250,000 gallons of wine a year. It was said to be the best wine in California and it was the largest winery in California. Mr. Gallegos ran the entire operation, machines, lights on hydropower by harnessing the Alameda Creek.
You can see what is left after the 1906 Earthquake and time. The newer pictures I took last week.
The property was actually stolen, and they plan to dig it up looking for assets, and relics. We have no reason to think or believe they care as you can tell by the pictures with the garbage. With 4200 employees they cannot find 2-3 employees for 1-2 days to clean the site up? They cannot be trusted with our history!
I have documents going to a local news agency who wants to do the story, but I need help. I came to Fremont to look into this and thought it would take 1-2 years, it has been 8 years. I am out of time and out of money. I do not own any property here or anywhere I cashed out everything I owned to do this. Now I need assistance. Please consider donating to my go*fund*me* just search "138 Winery" I cannot do this alone anymore!!!
