This bed safely held four rambunctious children as they slept, played, and grew and creates wonderful floor space for play or reading. The plywood was special order at $150 to assure sturdiness. All of this can be repainted if you prefer, but the underside is painted light blue with butterflies and dragon flies stenciled to it. The bookshelf faces the underside of the bed for a perfect reading nook and the notched ladder holds up the bed and screws into the bookshelf. The bookshelf held a 40-gallon fish tank for many years and is sturdy and strong. In the photos, it has fabric tacked up on it, but it’s been removed. The kids’ room was a jungle theme so it had bamboo as the safety bars (we do not have all of them and you may prefer dowels). 2x2’s were then screwed into the wall along the top and side to hold up those sides of the bed.

The bed is disassembled now. We still have most of the hardware, but some some new screws would be needed. The price includes the framing wood of the bed (plywood, 2x2’s, ladder, rails, and bookshelf). It does not include any decorations, the mattress, bedding or books, or the cubed storage on the far side. The aquarium is for sale separately.
