The Kitchen Lead is responsible for providing supportive leadership to the Executive Chef and the Kitchen/Prepared Foods staff. Duties include, but are not limited to, assisting the Executive Chef in monitoring kitchen activities, expediting orders to ensure quality, taste and presentation. The Kitchen Lead takes on additional responsibilities in the Executive Chef’s absence to ensure the kitchen staff have proper direction.


Supervisory Responsibilities:
-Oversee the health and safety of the kitchen staff
-Manage staff to make sure production timelines are met as directed by the Executive Chef
-Ensure kitchen staff adhere to set standards, procedures, department rules, sanitation & safety requirements
-Communicate via email and verbally the daily happenings during AM & PM shifts (staffing notes, inconsistencies or divergence from prep lists and deliveries, catering inquiries, customer feedback, important notes for the next shift, etc.)
-Solve problems that arise and seize control of issues in the kitchen
-Manage staff on keeping the kitchen equipment clean, organized and sanitized
-Take charge of kitchen opening and closing procedures, and other side work as directed by the Executive Chef
-Identify and work with GM and Executive Chef to address and resolve disciplinary issues

Duties/Responsibilities:
-Receive product/orders from vendors and orchestrates staff to put away correctly
-Help create prep lists using designated production guides, par sheets and recipes
-Inspect all prepared items and ensure that they meet Executive Chef's specifications and quality standards
-Instruct and correct staff on proper usage of Hobart scales, kitchen knives and equipment such as refrigerator organization, and warmers for food preparation
-Ensure proper food temperature and proper storage to ensure and meet food safety standards
-Keep stations clean and comply with all food safety standards. Monitor and maintain Prepared Foods equipment and report any problems or maintenance issues to the Executive Chef and/or Operations Team
-Train new employees on all procedures
-Ensure that customer service standards are met
-Offer feedback and correction when necessary to ensure elite performance from staff
-Daily shrinkage input
-Manage kitchen staff in the absence of the Executive Chef
-Help implement procedures put in place by Executive Chef
-Help oversee daily operations of Prepared Foods and the Kitchen
-Offer support to all subordinate positions in Kitchen and Prepared Foods as needed
-Ensure that all duty lists, par sheets and side work is completed before kitchen staff leave for the day


WHAT DOES THE JOB PAY?
$22/hour

-Full-time (4-5 shifts per week)
-8 hour shifts
