Carmel Bakery is the oldest bakery in California, a beloved gathering place in the heart of downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea. We serve locals and visitors alike with fresh pastries, espresso drinks, gelato, and warm hospitality. Our team takes pride in creating memorable moments for every guest, whether they are starting their morning with a cappuccino, grabbing a pastry on the go, or enjoying an afternoon treat.

The Role

We are looking for friendly, helpful, and outgoing individuals to join our team as Barista/Cashiers. This is a customer-facing role at one of the busiest bakeries on the Monterey Peninsula. You will be the smiling face that welcomes guests, prepares their drinks, and makes sure they leave happier than when they came in.

Responsibilities include:

• Making espresso drinks, smoothies, and other beverages
• Taking guest orders and handling transactions at the register
• Grabbing and serving pastries, scooping gelato
• Providing excellent customer service with a positive, helpful attitude
• Keeping the counter and café area clean and organized
• Assisting teammates during busy rushes to ensure smooth service

What We’re Looking For

• No prior barista or cashier experience required. We will provide training.
• Strong focus on customer service and hospitality
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs
• Food Handler’s Card (must be obtained before starting)
• English required; Spanish helpful
