This Sony is still in great working condition. It plays all CDs I have tried without any skipping or error messages. Loads and plays discs quickly. Built like a tank, the drawer is solid, unlike the thin plastic ones found in newer DVD players.

The sound quality is surprising! I would have expected a CD player of this vintage to be shrill and cold, but it is very musical and detailed with an analog-type bloom to the music.
