I've had this heavy-duty Adcom CD player for over 20 years, purchased used from a thrift store. It was built in 1988, very heavy construction, uses the Philips 1541 D/A chip and sounds pretty good even today. It includes a couple of interesting audio tweak features, one being a Polarity switch and the AFPC feature, both of which can help compensate for the deficiencies of poorly-mastered discs.
