We are seeking a patient, kind, and dependable caregiver to support a 79-year-old woman with Alzheimer’s / memory-related needs in a safe, calm home environment. This role is ideal for someone who understands the importance of routine, reassurance, and compassionate presence.
Responsibilities may include:
Assistance with daily routines and personal care: changing briefs and showering
Light meal preparation
Companionship and gentle redirection as needed
Support with mobility and supervision for safety
Light housekeeping and laundry related to care
Providing emotional reassurance
Enjoy outings together - my mother really loves the Monterey Sports Center, feeding ducks, walking the wharf
The ideal candidate has experience in Alzheimer’s or memory care, either professionally or personally, and brings patience, empathy, and emotional steadiness to their work. We are looking for someone who can create a sense of comfort, dignity, and trust while encouraging independence when possible.
Schedule is part-time with flexibility based on fit and care needs.
Our regular caregiver has accepted additional full-time work so I am looking for backup help when she is not available.
