This is a rare collection of 41 original OCEAN AVENUE MOTOR CLUB cloisonne lapel pins that are 3/4" wide by 1 1/8" long. The Ocean Avenue Motor Club was started in 2003 by the Concours-On-The-Avenue originator Doug Freedman who passed away in 2021. The purpose of the club was to generate support for the first Carmel car event that was held in 2007. Ocean Avenue Motor Club events in 2003-2006 were mid-day parties held at the Il Fornaio restaurant inside the Pine Inn on Ocean Avenue in Carmel during car week. Invited guests were selected VIPs who Doug wined and dined while the Concours-On-The-Avenue was slowly being approved by the Carmel City Council. The cloisonne lapel pins were originally given to those party guests as badges for admission as they entered the restaurant and were screened by paid security personnel. From 2007 through 2021 the lapel pins in various colors of cloisonne were distributed only to volunteer workers and car show entrants. This collection of 41 pins are in the different colors that were used each year the events were held. Many of these pins are still in the original packaging and have not been unwrapped. These pins are rare and I have not seen any for sale anywhere!
