“The Lake House”, found in the Sierra Nevada Foothills, at an elevation of 1600 feet, sits only 75 feet from a beautiful recreational reservoir that allows all manner of water sports, as well as fishing. Views of the lake can be seen from every room of the charmingly furnished home. In fact, the water is so close that friends may easily speak to one another while standing on the home’s front deck and floating dock. Guests may use the canoe, kayak, or fishing boat for lake exploration, or bring their own watercraft since the property has a concrete launch ramp. There are also some nice hiking trails around the lake, and for the golfing enthusiast, Dark Horse Public Golf Course is moments away. Although “The Lake House” is located in the Bear River wilderness area, the cottage is not isolated. Within a few miles from the property are restaurants, markets, and specialty shops. The historic towns of Auburn and Nevada City are fifteen minute drives, while the ski slopes of Soda Springs, via Interstate 80, are 50 minutes from the cottage. Lake Tahoe is one hour away, as is Sacramento.
The four bedroom, two bath home, with its large front deck and central heating system, is fully self contained and can sleep as many as nine guests. It is the perfect retreat to enjoy any time of the year.
