Sanitation Technician (San Juan Bautista, Ca )

Under the direct supervision and direction of the Sanitation Supervisor, the Sanitation Technician is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing processing equipment and the processing facility. The Sanitation technician Technician is expected follow all safety and GMP requirements at all times. This is a position is based in San Juan Bautista, CA. Shift time starts at 8:30pm and the work week is Sunday through Friday.

Essential Functions Required:
Operate cleaning equipment to sanitize and remove impurities from processing equipment and manufacturing facility.

Drain, clean, and refill sanitization machines or tanks at designated intervals, using cleaning solutions or water.

Observe cleaning equipment operations, gauges, or thermometers, and adjust controls to maintain specified conditions.

Organize chemical and equipment storage areas daily.

Actively participate in Tailgate meetings.

Proactively assist team members, managers and employees as needed.

Contributes to a successful food safety culture by following the established guidelines as outlined in the Earthbound Farm Food Safety Policy.

Follows all Company food safety protocols without fail.

Always perform tasks in a manner that protects and promotes food safety.

Manage special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Change Management -- Adaptable to a fast paced, shifting work environment; willing to remain flexible to accommodate changing business conditions, work requirements and scheduling needs.

Detail Oriented -- Attention to detail, ability to focus on the project or task at hand and consistently deliver error free results.


Other Physical Requirements:
Vision (Near, Distance, Color, Peripheral, Depth Perception).
Ability to effectively communicate with others.
Able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (ear plugs, hard hats, coveralls, smocks, gloves, goggles, and other GMP required equipment; hair net, beard net).

Education:
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required.

Related Experience, Qualifications and/or Certifications:
One (1) to three (3) years related Sanitation experience in a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of chemical usage, proportions and regulations.

Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) knowledge strongly preferred.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate with multi-level audiences; bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred; must be willing to acquire Spanish language skills as required.

Ability to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to lifting equipment (up to 50 lbs unassisted), bending, kneeling, crouching, standing, climbing or walking.

Ability to work day and evening shifts, overtime, and weekend and holiday hours.

Computer Skills / Special Equipment Knowledge:
Knowledge and understanding of Sanitation equipment preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work environment consists of regular exposure to a refrigerated food manufacturing facility with very cold temperatures (34-36 degrees F); routine exposure to the smell of chlorine, heavy machinery, forklift traffic and loud noises; occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions; regular exposure to an indoor, environmentally controlled business office; occasional exposure to an indoor, not environmentally controlled warehouse.
