We are looking to move into an apartment or house in the Monterey area. As you must know, the prices are generally sky high and we would like to find a roommate or a couple in their 20's or 30's preferrably, to move in to an apartment with us. This would entail paying their part of a deposit as well. Our cats are pretty friendly and are spayed with all their shots. We would share all apartment privelages equally. We are going to be attending MPC this fall and are both in our early 20's. We have found a few good apartment listings in Monterey already and are open to suggestions as well. My chocolate Lab, Malik, is a 12 year-old spayed female who weighs 50 lbs. Malik is AKC CGC (Canine Good Citizen) certified and she also assists in my evaluations of client�s dogs when they ask to be GCG tested. She is my sole mate and has taught me a lot in her twelve years with me.
My Border Collie, Seal, is a 5 year-old spayed female that weighs 30 lbs. I compete in agility with Seal and she has several titles in AKC and USDAA agility venues. Seal also accompanies me as a demo dog for my group classes. She is typical of the breed � very intelligent and biddable, but lacks the crazy always-on-the-go Border Collie behavior, which I love because it makes her very easy to live with.
Both of my dogs are trained well beyond the basics and I would be happy to provide references as to their behavior if needed.
I would love to find a place that had a yard, especially fenced, so that I could spend time outside with my dogs. I am very active with my dogs and I love going camping, hiking, running or just to the beach with them. My dogs go everywhere with me.
Privacy and personal space is important to me as I do enjoy my alone time when I am home since it isn�t that often. A guest house would be perfect. I would be happy to take care of things while you are away too � water the plants, feed the horses, dogs, etc. Just ask.
I�ve always had my own place in Texas and just recently sold my house when I moved here so this is a very big change for me. I am a very clean, organized and responsible person and take pride in my home and my dog�s appearances, as they are a reflection of me.
I would like to find a place in the price range of around $650/month, more if utilities are included.
I also have a fellow employee that is looking for a place with her two dogs, so if you have a two bedroom available for around $1300 and are cool with the dogs, that is an option as well as we would be great roommates. She also takes one of her dogs to work everyday.

My wife will be graduating from Navy boot camp on July 25, and from there will be going to DLI, Monterey shortly after. We would like to be ahead of the game so I can be with her soon, so I am trying to find out if there is anyone TRULY "animal friendly" out there.
We don't have dogs that pee and poop everywhere. We have two cats who use their litterbox, and then some constrictor (non-venomous) snakes. So many people say they are animal friendly, but when I call and mention snakes, they suddenly aren't so friendly. These animals don't run loose, and they can't possibly hurt anyone. These snakes are breeders, not pets, so they spend their whole day in secured, escape-proof habitats, which they prefer. We do not feed live prey to them, so there is no fear of a food rat getting loose and infesting your rental. We are a very quiet, very mature young couple. Not only do we not party or drive loud cars, but we would prefer nobody bother us, and we drive a Prius! We are clean, friendly, professional people who would love to get the chance to prove that all young people are not loud punks!
The apartment complex we are in now gave us a chance and they love us now! One of the managers has even asked me to bring one of my snakes to her kid's first grade show-and-tell a few times (which I did, of course).
None of our animals will ever hurt your property, and neither will we. Just give us an opportunity to live together while she attends DLI (18-22 months). I grew up in California with my snakes, and would love to come back and live with my wife.
Studios, trailers, houses, apartments...it doesn't matter, as long as it is affordable and quiet, although the more "green" (ecologically friendly)it is, the better.
We have our own furniture (minus major appliances) and a pretty long stay ahead, so if you might be willing to look past the common, yet irrational fear of snakes (in locked, escape-proof aquariums!) we would love to get an email from you. It will be a month or so before she can start looking, but if I have some names and numbers for her, soon we could be your new favorite tenant ever!
(As a side note, our neighbors lived beside us for a month before they knew the apartment wasn't vacant! We like it quiet.)
