Tetra Tech Inc. is currently seeking an Energy Efficiency Professional/Energy Engineer to work onsite and support energy conservation improvements for Presidio of Monterey in Monterey, CA.

The selected candidate will work on site at the customer's facilities at Presidio of Monterey to provide comprehensive energy management services. Primary duties will focus on energy management, including program management services, but work will also include developing facilities energy efficiency improvements, developing distributed generation opportunities, developing renewable energy projects, providing energy training, performing design reviews, analyzing energy and utilities data, recommending improvements to utility procurement and operations, and related duties. The candidate will identify energy conservation opportunities and help facilitate the implementation of projects, initiatives, and programs that reduce energy consumption and demand, save money, and help the environment. The candidate will augment existing customer capabilities, work with both the customer and Tetra Tech in a team framework, and be an on-site action agent to facilitate energy and cost savings.

Job Requirements:

The ideal candidate is required to have 4 - 10 plus years of experience in energy management/engineering; strong HVAC background; experience with energy auditing, project development, life-cycle cost analysis, commissioning, and building/system optimization is desired. Previous experience working at Federal / DOD facilities, particularly at Army bases, is a plus. Certified Energy Manager designation is required or must obtain within first year of contract.

This position requires knowledge of utility information systems, energy management technologies and metering; excellent verbal and written communication skills, analytical, interpersonal, and presentation skills; proficient computer skills including the use of spreadsheets; especially Excel, and other database applications is required.

BS in engineering or energy-related field is required but military or civilian experience working at Army bases or other Federal installations and/or experience in energy-related field may be acceptable. Certified Energy Manager (CEM) designation is required or must obtain within first year of contract.

This position requires selected candidate to possess U.S. citizenship and you must to be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

The work environment will consist of an office environment as well as frequent field visits in and around various client facility sites. You must be able to exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demands are in excess of those of sedentary work. Light work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree. You must be able to climb ladders, access roofs, and access narrow mechanical rooms.
